Privacy policy
This page explains what happens to information when you use CS2 Crosshair Restore. It describes this version of the site as it is currently configured. Where something would only apply if a feature is turned on later, the page says so.
In short
- Your crosshair codes, typed settings and pasted console text are processed in your browser. They are not sent to this site's server.
- Nothing stays saved on your device unless you choose Save on this device, and you can delete it at any time.
- There are no accounts. The site's own code sets no cookies.
- This build shows no ads and loads no advertising or consent scripts.
- This build runs no analytics.
Who runs this site
This site is operated by AC IT Solutions LLC.
For privacy questions, email crosshairrestore@gmail.com. The contact page has more detail.
The site owner has named these launch regions: US, EU.
Your crosshair data stays in your browser
When you paste an old crosshair code, type old settings or paste console lines, the converter reads them with code that runs in your browser. The codes, typed settings and pasted text are not sent to this site's server. The results, commands, checklist and crosshair.cfg file are also produced in your browser.
This build loads no advertising scripts, so no third-party script runs next to the converter.
Saving on this device
Save on this device is optional and off until you press it. It uses your browser's local storage, under the key cs2-crosshair-restore:save:v1. It is not a cookie and it is not sent to the server.
What is saved:
- your recovered old settings, as plain numbers and yes or no values, whether they came from a code, typed settings or console lines, and which game you said they came from, if you chose one
- the new style and values you chose yourself
- the time you saved
It never saves the raw code you pasted or your pasted console text. Once something is saved, a delete button appears next to the save button. You can also remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks storage, for example in some private windows, the converter still works and simply does not save.
So that it can offer to load a saved crosshair, the converter checks this key when the page opens. To see whether storage is available, it also writes a short test value and removes it straight away. That test value contains no information about you or your crosshair, and nothing stays stored unless you press Save on this device.
Website links
Copy website link makes a link back to this site with your chosen new settings in the part of the address after the # sign, called the fragment. Browsers do not send the fragment to the server in normal requests, so it does not appear in the host's request logs. The link never includes your old code or pasted console text.
A link is not secret. Scripts on the page can read the fragment, which is how the converter loads the settings, and anyone you send the link to can see the settings in it. A website link is not a CS2 share code, and the game cannot import it.
Cookies
The site's own code sets no cookies. This build loads no advertising scripts, so no advertising cookies are set.
Hosting and server logs
The site's pages and files are delivered by a static hosting provider. Like most web hosts, it may keep standard request logs, such as your IP address, your browser's user agent and the page path you asked for. These logs come from ordinary page requests. They do not contain your crosshair codes, typed settings, pasted text or the fragment of a website link. The site has no accounts, so it keeps no profile of you.
Advertising
This build shows no ads and loads no advertising or consent scripts.
If advertising is turned on later
Not active in this build. The site is designed so that it can be supported by ads. If ads are turned on in a future version, the following would apply, and this page would describe it as current.
- Ads would come from Google AdSense and appear in spaces labelled "Advertisement".
- Pages with ads would load Google's ad script and Google's Privacy & messaging consent tool. In regions where consent is required, the tool would show a message asking for your choices. Ad requests would wait for your answer, and if you did not allow storing or accessing information on your device, no ads would be requested.
- Google and its partners could use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads and, where you allow it, to personalise them. Google explains this in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- The site would still not send your crosshair codes, settings or pasted text to Google. Ad scripts would run on the same page as the converter, though, and a script running on a page can technically read what the page shows.
- You could change your choices at any time with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of pages that show ads.
- Declining or blocking ads would not affect the converter.
Analytics
This build runs no analytics. No analytics script loads and no usage events are sent.
Your privacy choices
The Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page brings you to this section. In this build there is no consent message to open, because no advertising or consent scripts load.
Whatever the configuration, you control these:
- Saving: nothing stays stored on your device unless you press Save on this device, and you can delete it at any time.
- Links: a website link is only made when you press Copy website link, and you decide who gets it.
- Your browser: you can clear this site's stored data, or block scripts from other sites, in your browser settings.
