This page lists two kinds of change. Site release entries cover new features and fixes on this site. Game compatibility entries record which game builds the recovery tool targets and what was learned about them.
The tool currently uses target schema target-2026-09-22.2 and mapping rules assisted-2026-09-23.1, checked against public game data for builds 2000913 and 2000914. What those versions mean is explained on the conversion method page, and what the game update changed is on the update page.
Version 0.2.0: Measured size conversion at 1920×1080 and 1280×960
Site release ·
Length, Thickness and Gap are converted automatically for Classic Static crosshairs from CS2 before the update, played at 1920×1080 or 1280×960 (4:3): the new values draw the same pixels, measured from lossless screenshots of the old and new game and checked on 13 held-back crosshairs per resolution. At 1280×960, 15 old sizes the screenshots do not pin down are left for you to choose, with both possible values shown.
After you recover a Classic Static crosshair, a short dialog asks the resolution you play at; you can change it later in the Automatic sizes box. Where your crosshair is from now starts as Pre-update CS2, since almost every old crosshair comes from there; you can still choose CS:GO or Not sure. Other setups keep choosing sizes, with the measured values shown as a guide.
Converted sizes are labelled Converted. An old gap of −5, which the new game cannot draw, and gaps between −5 and −4, which were not captured, become the closest value and are labelled Closest possible.
The editor and preview now warn that Thickness 0 drew no crosshair in our tests, although the game help mentions a 1-pixel minimum.
The editor is less crowded: each setting shows its old value and status, and the full explanation opens with Why.
Version 0.1.0: Initial assisted restoration release
Site release ·
Recover settings from an old crosshair code, from old settings typed by hand, or from pasted old console lines (Old code, Old settings and Console values tabs).
Recovered old values stay unchanged next to editable new settings for all eight new crosshair styles.
Settings with a known new equivalent are carried over; everything that could not come across is listed with a plain explanation.
You choose the new Length, Thickness and Gap, or start from a clearly labelled editor sample (Length 8, Thickness 3, Gap 1). Sizes are not converted automatically.
Schematic preview, labelled as a schematic. Dynamic styles are drawn at rest, and Dynamic Quad shows settings only.
Console commands for documented and verified settings, a settings checklist for the game menu, a crosshair.cfg download and a website settings link.
Undo, Reset edits, Start over, and optional Save on this device.
Advertising and analytics are off by default. They can only run in a production build that has been configured for them, and only while the consent tool allows them: withdrawing consent stops new ad requests.
Security: a strict Content-Security-Policy without inline or third-party scripts in builds without ads; ads builds switch to Google's documented nonce-based policy through a small Cloudflare Pages middleware.
Not available yet: calibrated size conversion (the size conversion profile is disabled) and new-format game crosshair codes (they cannot be read or created).
Target schema target-2026-09-22.2: CS2 crosshair update of 22 September 2026
Game compatibility ·
Checked against public game data for build 2000913 (the update) and build 2000914 (the hotfix).
Thickness is capped at 31. The hotfix changed the menu slider maximum from 32 to 31; the console maximum was 31 in both builds.
Dynamic Cross (Classic) includes T Style as its last control. The screenshot of this style was cropped, so this row comes from the game menu files.
The Style, Length, Thickness and Gap commands were checked in the game console. The other commands are documented from the public console variable list for the current build; reading all of them back in game is still pending.
Old crosshair commands that the update removed or hid are never included in the output.
